Howard was charged along with Nathan Kyle Harber, 20, and Dae’toine Amontaey Jamar Shells, 19, in connection with a fight Oct. 28, 2024.
Police were called to the 400 block of Delaware Avenue in northwest Dayton on a report that someone had been shot, and on arrival found a man who had been stabbed multiple times and a 14-year-old who had been punched and kicked unconscious, according to Dayton Municipal Court records.
Police confirmed to media that nobody was shot, but bullet casings from two different guns were found on scene.
While investigating, police searched Shells’ home and found a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun, documents said. When detectives spoke to Howard, he said that he saw Shells fire a handgun during the fight, and that he also fired a 9 mm handgun that was found in his home, records said.
Harber was indicted on two counts of felonious assault, and is scheduled to be in court Feb. 13.
Shells was granted intervention in lieu of conviction Jan. 17.
